JINDY'S CORNER NEWSLETTER

Hello and welcome to Jindy's Corner!  My name is Jindy and I am 3 years old. My mom is a beagle, my dad is a shepherd and chow mix and that makes me a Curbstone Setter!  My pet parents rescued me and my 3 other Curbstone Setter sisters and we love living here.

  • I thought I'd share some of the great things our pet parents do for us.
  • Later I'll tell you some tips for keeping your canine pets happy and healthy during these hot, humid days.
  • Don't forget to sniff out the great sale on Crypton waterproof outdoor dog beds
  • Look at that new style 3-in-1 orthopedic dog bed that is a convertible, washable dog bed.

Have fun reading my newsletter and come back often for more great tips, dog bed products and doggie accessories.

I love my doggie massage!

Sounds crazy, huh?  But your dog will benefit greatly from a deep muscle massage daily.  It will increase his flexibility, stimulate natural oils which enrich his skin and coat, ease joint discomfort and will even calm his anxieties.  All us Curbstone Setters love our daily massage and are healthier and happier when we spend just 10 to 15 minutes each day being massaged, especially around our hip joints and leg muscles.

SAFETY TIPS FOR SUMMER

  • Give us plenty of fresh cool water - We can't sweat so we pant to keep cool.  Then our tongues get dry and we get thirsty big time.  Check out our tank style water cooler for dogs.
  • Don't leave us in the HOT car - Even with the windows down a little we can suffer a stroke or even die!  We will miss you, but you should leave us home if you're not driving us to the dog park.
  • Give us shelter from the sun - Did you know that we can get sunburned just like you? Please cover our kennel with a Solar Shield to protect us from sun and wind.
  • Keep biting ants away from us - Fire ants are buggin' us again this summer.  Please buy us a raised dog bed or let us rest on the porch (I promise we won't bother the flower pots!).
  • Feed us clean food - Protect our food from flies and ants in an automatic feederWe don't want tummy troubles or trips to the vet.

Yes, we really do NEED a dog bed.
Dog beds prevent us from jumping onto your expensive furniture and are actually good for us.  All of my canine buddies, especially BIG SAM, should not lie on hard surfaces. We will develop sores and calluses over bony protrusions (such as the elbow) and you won't like those ugly, dark spots on our soft, shiny coats.   Your dog will be healthier if she sleeps on her own dog bed.

HEY, tennis ball is my absolute fav-or-ite thing to play, too!   Send us a picture of your playful canine companions.  I will randomly select my fav pics and your pets will be featured in the next issue of my newsletter, Jindy's Corner.

How should I select the correct size and
type of dog bed for my pet?

First determine how your dog sleeps.  (I get my best doggie sleep when I stretch out and roll onto my back with my paws straight up in the air!)  If your pet sleeps curled up in a ball, then a nest or cuddler dog bed would be your best choice.  Measure your dog while she is resting in the curled up position and then add 7 inches to determine cuddler dog bed length.  If you have a larger dog who enjoys sleeping stretched out with her legs fully extended, then a large round or rectangular dog bed will be the best choice.
